BENEATH THE SURFACE

Original mixed media with acrylic and dimensional relief

Dimensions127 × 107 × 4 cm (50 × 42.1 × 1.6 in)
MaterialsAcrylic, gesso, plaster, natural stones and gold metallic pigments
FramingHandmade black wooden frame. Signed and ready to hang.

BENEATH THE SURFACE explores what remains hidden before it breaks through. Built with texture, contrast and metallic accents, the work evokes inner pressure, buried force and the moment when matter opens into light. The central fissure is not treated as a break, but as a point of revelation where tension becomes visible.

THE OTHER SIDE

Mixed media: acrylic, mineral relief and resin on canvas

Dimensions127 × 87 × 7 cm (50 × 34.2 × 2.8 in)
MaterialsAcrylic, gesso, plaster, polyurethane, natural stones, small shell details and resin (water effect)
FramingHandcrafted black wooden shadow frame. Framed and ready to hang.

Some thresholds appear when we feel prepared; others become necessary when remaining in place would mean losing ourselves. THE OTHER SIDE inhabits the fragile interval between fear and freedom: the known world recedes, while what lies ahead has not yet taken shape. Beyond the doorway gather memories, hurts and decisions—the forces that have formed identity.

COPPER ORBIT

Acrylic, geological relief and metallic patinas on canvas

Dimensions107,5 × 127,5 × 4 cm (42.3 × 50.2 × 1.6 in)
MaterialsAcrylic, gesso, plaster, natural stones and aged gold-to-copper metallic finishes
FramingHandmade black wooden frame. Signed and ready to hang.

COPPER ORBIT is a large original mixed-media artwork built from deep red, black, copper and gold tones. The piece carries a strong mineral presence, with a textured surface that moves between heat, erosion and suspended matter. The circular form appears like an orbit or a buried celestial body emerging from the surface. Around it, metallic traces and dark textures create a sense of movement, pressure and depth.

Geological Inspiration

From Montserrat to Artwork

The ancient stone conglomerates, tectonic fissures, and shifting Mediterranean light of Montserrat form the living core of each creation.

Living and working in El Bruc, at the direct base of the Montserrat mountain massif, the physical landscape ceases to be a distant backdrop; it becomes the direct catalyst for matter.

Montserrat’s sedimentary formations inspire a tactile language of fissures, relief, acrylics and mineral materials. Depending on each artwork, WuiRa Art may incorporate plaster, natural stone and metallic pigments.

Tectonic Geology

Sedimentary conglomerates and natural minerals integrated into plaster and gesso.

Specular Response

Copper and gold metallic patinas that transform under natural morning and evening light.

Artistic Approach

Matter, texture and light are essential to the language of these works. Relief is not decorative: it becomes part of the experience of the artwork.

Authenticity & SignatureOriginal artworks carry the WR signature on the front and identifying details on the reverse. A Certificate of Authenticity is provided upon sale.

WuiRa Art is a self-taught Spanish contemporary artist based in El Bruc, Barcelona. Her work explores the tactile dialogue between matter, texture and light.

Her practice investigates themes of inner transformation, resilience, memory, and the physical weight of existence. Rather than painting representational forms, she sculpts the canvas surface, carving fissures, building reliefs, and applying metallic copper and gold accents that respond to shifting ambient daylight.

Most works feature handmade black wooden frames; THE HEARTBEAT OF THE EARTH and SILENCE THAT SPEAKS are unframed. Her work is held in private collections in Spain, Texas and New York.

The Material Chronology

The process varies by artwork, involving preparation, material application, relief, painting and finishing. Each piece has its own rhythm and technical needs.

01·Material Foundation

Preparation of the support with gesso and acrylic; plaster or other relief materials are used when appropriate to the work.

02·Textural Fissuring & Relief

Manual carving, fracturing, and sculpting while matter cures, revealing tension and organic geology.

03·Pigments & Metallic Patinas

Successive glazing of acrylics, volcanic darks, and copper/gold metallic particles that react to natural light.

04·Bespoke Frame Fabrication

Handmade black wooden shadow frames designed and built specifically for each painting’s dimensional depth.
